Not only does winning this award validate the team’s commitment to excellence, inspiring further innovation, but it also instils pride, motivation, and a sense of achievement, fostering a culture of continuous growth and success within Motive.

Our award-winning work

On behalf of our long-standing client, Guide Dogs UK, ‘Empowering Independence Through Social Media’ to structure an ongoing holistic strategy for social media as part of the wider organisational and marketing objectives. The charity wanted this work to support their expert status in the sight loss and canine sectors, increase the awareness of their services, and implement a digital-first approach to increase their overall reach and diversify audiences.

As part of the social media strategic plans, it is important to recognise that social media is always changing, and being able to adjust, bend, develop, and expand in line with these changes is the key to success. With this in mind, we had to get creative to ensure that the targets set were achieved:

  • A shift in ways-of-working: we developed a hybrid client/agency team to allow for a reactive and strategic approach, creative and engaging content, the ability to react to trends, and opportunities for data-led learnings.
  • Experts in the canine space: digestible digital-friendly content was created to cement Guide Dogs’ reputation as canine experts.
  • Experts in sight-loss: a SEO informed digital strategy was implemented to improve ranking for sight-loss search terms and providing digital support to service users.
  • Viral reactive opportunities: we quickly reacted to trends and jumped at the opportunity to collaborate and increase reach through working with Aston Villa, and a timely TikTok during The Apprentice.
  • Influencers and user-generated content: branching out from the typical celebrity partnerships, we worked with football clubs and influencers, reacting to trends and meme culture, which helped to establish the brand amongst new audiences.
  • Supporting the organisation: leading the conversation on illegal access refusals, supporting the rehoming team, and amplifying and tailoring PR opportunities with compelling content.

We take pride in our prowess of how the project management tools and effective communication channels were used. Our agile approach thrives in the fast-paced and unpredictable nature of social media, balancing meticulous strategy whilst making room for spontaneous creativity. Navigating the dynamic landscape effortlessly, our team transform challenges into opportunities and adapt to the ever-changing pace of the industry.

We have set out and succeeded in changing perceptions of the power of social media, educating on the profound impact of engaging audiences on digital platforms. With insights from data and service user feedback, we pioneer for new standards for creating compelling content that effectively conveys the charity’s message in a resonant and meaningful manner.
