Oh So Social is an international social media marketing agency based in Cornwall, composed of an expert team passionate about social media and digital marketing. We provide a wealth of expert social media and digital marketing knowledge and experience to help businesses of all sizes succeed online, with services including comprehensive social media management, performance paid social media advertising, out of hours community management, strategy development, training and mentoring.
Oh So Social was founded by director Katherine George, who has worked extremely hard to get to where she is today. She launched Oh So Social in 2014 when she returned home to Cornwall after working for other agencies across the UK on high profile social media accounts including The Spanish Riding School of Vienna, Dancing on Ice Live and Team GB. She realised that her level of social media knowledge and wealth of experience was in short supply, as well as there being a gap in the market for an honest and truly knowledgeable social media agency.
Launching Oh So Social from her kitchen table, Katherine has developed the agency from its humble beginnings offering training, advice, strategy and management to businesses from her home. As clients often enquired about one social media aspect and ended up with them all, she began creating social media packages with something to fit every business, as well as creating bespoke offerings for anyone who wanted them.
Following her initial success, Oh So Social has grown into an elite team of social media and digital marketing experts, managing a wide range of prestigious clients both in the UK and internationally.
Being recognised nationally for our work in social media is a great honour, especially when this recognition comes for a successful project we have completed for one of our many long-standing clients. We are delighted to be shortlisted in the Best Low Budget Campaign category for our work with Newlyn School of Art, who have been our clients since 2016. We were tasked by Newlyn School of Art to promote their new Year Long Online Landscape Course, with primary objectives to raise awareness with new and existing audiences, sell the new online course and increase mailing list sign-ups for future campaigns.
We used a full funnel international campaign spanning two weeks under a tight deadline, targeting audiences not just in the UK, but in America, Canada and Australia too. Alongside the straightforward advertising campaign, we ran a coinciding competition which allowed us to find new audiences to achieve the top of the funnel awareness, using awareness advertising to encourage email sign-ups, as well as incentivising social sharing within the competition mechanism to reach cold audiences.
Our results can be summarised by feedback from Newlyn School of Art: “The best sales we’ve ever had.” For the other key objectives set by the client, we achieved a reach of 491k and increased mailing list sign-ups by 17k subscribers, building a secure warm audience for future campaigns. We are delighted with these results, which further cement our strong reputation for performance paid social, as well as showcasing why many of our clients remain loyal to Oh So Social for their social media needs.
As a team, it is wonderful to be celebrated for our hard work and the excellent results we consistently achieve for our clients, so we are exceptionally proud to also be finalists in the Best Small Agency category. We continuously demonstrate significant ROAS for our clients, and have also achieved our primary goal for the past year to level up and work with larger, national clients. Thanks to partnerships with Small Business Britain and Enterprise Nation, we have delivered in-person and virtual talks and webinars for Facebook, eBay, Vodafone, Lloyds Bank and Amazon. We have also pitched for and won contracts for national brands and high calibre Cornish businesses for performance paid social advertising campaigns where we are returning fantastic results.
To become finalists at the UK Social Media Awards 2024 in not one, but two categories is a fantastic achievement for Oh So Social, and this is made even more rewarding due to the challenges faced over the last year. Following a diagnosis of a rare autoimmune disease called Sjogren’s Syndrome in 2023, Katherine was advised to reduce her screen time to protect her sight. As a director of a social media agency, this was a shock, and a lot to consider going forward. This meant a shift in how Oh So Social ran, among a lot of other changes both professionally and personally.
As a result, Oh So Social’s primary focus has shifted onto paid social, rather than organic management. Performance paid social is one of our key strengths in social media and an area which is rapidly growing in importance when it comes to social media for business. Although Katherine is still the dynamic and entrepreneurial leader driving the agency forward, she has now taken on a Creative Director role, and is always busy behind-the-scenes creating ad strategies, offering advice and developing the team to help ensure client success. She also spends time training entrepreneurs and businesses of all sizes and sharing her expert knowledge speaking at events, both locally and nationally. Following this phase of growth and development, we have an established client base of prestigious national businesses across a wide range of sectors for both paid and organic management.
To have our successes recognised nationally by UK Socia Media Awards, both in paid social and as an agency, after a period of challenge and change is a wonderful testament to our dedication to our clients and passion for social media.
